Fall is the time of the year when pumpkin takes over. This trend makes an appearance in most foods and drinks, candles, and more during the autumn season. Now that winter is on the way, the pumpkin movement slowly begins to fade and scents such as pine, peppermint, and gingerbread start to come back into fashion after hibernating since last winter. But if you are a lover of all things pumpkin, and aren’t quite ready to let go of the flavor of the fall season, then you will appreciate a baking lesson on the orange plant. All you need is a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and a few ingredients and you are ready to go!
Let’s get started!
Before you do anything, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. While the oven heats up, grab a bowl and add milk, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spices. Whisk the concoction up for a bit and then pour it into a saucepan to heat up. After it gets thicker, remove it from the heat and pour into you’re a large bowl so it can cool. Put that aside for now and move onto the egg whites. This is where your KitchenAid appliance comes into play. Attach the whisk mixer so that it mixes the eggs and makes them fluffy. While your mixer is whirring around, slowly add the rest of the sugar. Lastly, you’ll want to fold the egg whites into the pumpkin mixture very gently so that it stays airy. Spray your pan with cooking spray, place them in the oven, and in 16-18 minutes, take them out of your appliance to dust them with powdered sugar. Eat quickly before they collapse!
